Chrissy Pelopidas (she/her)
HAP Lab Alumnus
Chrissy graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University in 2021 with a Master’s of Planning in Urban Development. Her Major Research Paper (MRP) centred on age-friendly policy in Official Plans with a specific focus on walkable environments for older adults in mid-sized Ontario cities. Her research was sought by the Ottawa Council on Aging to inform their advocacy on the inclusion of seniors’ needs in the Ottawa Official Plan. Her research was also integrated into a graduate-level course in the Master of Planning Program at Queen's University. During her studies, Chrissy also worked as a Research Assistant in the TransForm Lab and led a project on children’s outdoor play and well-being. Chrissy is currently a Junior Planner at the Region of Peel.

Research Interests: age-friendly cities (older adults and children), disability-friendly cities, accessibility and the built environment, accessible transportation, the intersection of planning and public health, (inclusive) public consultation, land use planning.
