Research Coordinator
As the research coordinator at HAP lab, Justine has fingers in many pots, providing research assistance and project management support on several research projects.
Justine is a graduate of the Masters of Planning program in Urban Development at TMU. Their Major Research Paper (MRP) investigates the access barriers and supports that exist for Blind, low-vision or visually impaired-identified individuals who participate in cultural activities in Toronto. Conducting and analyzing this research produced a framework for understanding how cultural planners might better provide meaningful accessibility within cultural spaces and the built environment. The work garnered recognition from the Faculty of Community Services at TMU with two significant awards: the Innovation Award and the Dean’s Writing Award.
Justine also has experience working in the non-profit sector, where they were the Cycling Education Coordinator for Victoria’s cycling advocacy organization, Capital Bike. In their spare time, you are likely to find Justine cruising around the city on their bike, whose name is Gus.
